For this assessment, put together all of the pieces you have been working on throughout the course to form your research project. The Research Report Template will help you include the following in your project.

Insert the following from previous assessments into the template.

Introduction
Insert your literature review after your title. If you have not done so previously, revise your literature review based on any instructor feedback.
Methods
Participants
Describe the number of participants in the study, meaning, and the number of participants who responded to both variables selected.
Be sure to revise based on any instructor feedback you received.
Measures
Insert the measurement you chose from your research proposal.
Be sure to revise based on any instructor feedback you received.
Be sure to turn the future tense from the proposal to past tense for this assessment.
Procedure

For this assessment, you will write the Discussion section and Summary and Conclusion section of the template. In the Discussion section, answer the following questions:

What do your results mean?
How do your results compare to what you expected?
How do your results compare to other research studies?
How can your results be generalized?
What were the limitations of the study?
Think about research validity and reliability.
How do your results support or not support a psychological theory or concept?

1.    Are there any sports ethics principles that can be considered universal?

2.    How should sports ethics be addressed at the international level? Do sports ethics differ in other cultures

3.    Is too much emphasis placed on winning in sports? With so much money at stake and big contracts available in professional sports, players have more of a win at all costs attitude and most owners want nothing less.

4.    Which is more unethical: college players or professional players gambling on the outcome of their own games? Is it more damaging in college sports because of the participants involved, their relative youth, and the amateur nature of the match? What about the fact that college athletes are unpaid and professional athletes are highly paid employees who owe a fiduciary duty to their employer.

5.    Would it tarnish the integrity of a sport if fans could legally bet on a match at the stadium where the games are played?

6.    Team unity is vital to any teams success at all levels of sports. If a team works together, they are more likely to be successful on the field of play. A team must have the right chemistry between the players to win. With that in mind, when is it acceptable for a high school player to voice his or her opposition to the way a team is being run?

There are a number of Asian American cultural producers who are moving and  shaking the fields of visual art, music, spoken word, film, theater, sports, and performance, but due to years of systemic racism, racialization and marginalization a number of works by Asian Americans just never get reviewed, analyzed, and sometimes even seen, heard or read.

Assignment: You will position yourself as a cultural critic and Asian American studies scholar.  You will critically review and analyze the same object of study that you described. You are first going to review it and tell us what makes this object of whatever something to see, hear, or taste its interventions in the world of fashion or genre of romantic comedies et al.  Are there any shortcomings and limitations of the work that you feel you should note?  Ideally, you are trying to convince us to take the time to check out and see, listen, or taste something.

You are not writing a BIOGRAPHY of a person, ad copy for a product, or a summary of a book/movie. You are also engaging in an ANALYSIS of why this cultural object of study matters, contextualizing the artwork or tv show as part of a larger phenomenon. For example, how does your person of interest intervene in the politics of food making, the sport of rock climbing?  How is a particular cultural phenomenon reflective of a shifting demographic within the Asian American community? How is an individual performer complicit in perpetuating stereotypes of Filipino Americans or reaffirming a Euro-American standard of beauty? How does the cultural production fit perfectly or fit ambivalently in this category called Asian American?  How important is it to mention or point to an individuals Asian American upbringing in discussing his/her accomplishments?  How does it change the way we see this persons accomplishments differently if we analyze this work within an Asian American cultural studies framework?  What are the oppositional possibilities of the select work, if any? You dont have to answer ALL of these questions, but you should try to address and engage some of these questions.

Objective:  To encourage you to use your analytical skills and critically engage an Asian American Cultural production as more than just cool, good, bad, interesting, Asian American.  Why is this object of study, a work of Asian American culture. What does it do: reflect a form of racist love, resist our understanding of US culture, highlight the importance of self-care when grievances of racism or patriarchy are left unheard?

TIPS

1)  To begin writing a cultural critique or critical analysis of a cultural object, begin by asking a question.
For example:
How does Faye Ngs Bone represent Chinatown?
How does Faye Ngs Bone challenge the formative structure of a normative family and the mother-daughter narrative so prevalent in Asian American literature?
How do particular themes in a pop song intersect with similar concerns outlined in Asian American cultural criticism?  While ____s song does not explicitly ever articulate the term Asian American, her recounting of an encounter recalls the figure of the model minority
What role does race play in The Master of None?  In this particular episode of The Master of None, Aziz Ansari foregrounds generational differences, but also racism.

2)Come up with a thesis topic/statement/question and use that as your guide. Approach your paragraphs as building blocks to your argument. Every paragraph should have a topic sentence that identifies the main idea of the paragraph. A topic sentence also states the point you wish to make about that subject. Generally, the topic sentence appears at the beginning of the paragraph. It is often the paragraphs very first sentence. A paragraphs topic sentence must be general enough to express the paragraphs overall subject. But it should be specific enough that the reader can understand the paragraphs main subject and point. The supporting details in the paragraph (the sentences other than the topic sentence) will develop or explain the topic sentence. Read all the supporting details in the paragraph and think about the ideas it discusses.

3)This is not a heavy-duty research paper. You do not have the space or time to write about the entire history of pop music and how a particular band fits into or challenges this history.

4)You have already written the description, add to it, revise it as per your TAs comments and questions, but no need to rewrite it unless you absolutely feel you need to do so.

5)Please note, we have access to google too so cite your references. Wikipedia is useful but not always reliable. We want to hear your VOICE and CRITICAL VIEWPOINT, not what somebody elses take. Please keep in mind too that this is an ASIAN AMERICAN STUDIES class so think about what we have been reading and discussing in class, the different concepts being introduced in relation to your paper. If you can engage Frank Chins concepts or David Engs lecture go for it. But if you cant, no need to force it.Your critical analysis paper will be graded on the strength and clarity of your review and analysis.

REMEMBER:  Take your paper or project and the content seriously.  If you dont, how do you expect us to take you seriously?  Write in clear prose and have a coherent argument about why this cultural production matters.  At the same time, take risks and go beyond what has been discussed in class or what other critics have saidchallenge and push yourself.

p.s.  you dont have to read these reviews of Lee Isaacs film Minari but they are good examples of how to do a (film) review but also shows you different takes on the film. Consider what the reviewers share in seeing this film,  but also check out how they diverge in the way they see and analyze the film.

Business Consulting

Remember Bill? He was the gentleman that you helped to start up his business in Lesson 4. Well his business is doing well, but he has come to you with some questions and concerns. You discuss each of these with Bill and promise to send him a written report with your suggestions and recommendations. Bills questions and concerns are as follows:

Bill has set up a spreadsheet in Excel that will help him keep track of expenses. So far, he has this:

Tell Bill how to do the following tasks:
What formula or function does he put in Column F that will show the total expenses for each day?
What formula or function does he put in columns B through F in Row 13 that will give him the total expenses for the week in each category?
Bill wants the entry in Column G to remind him of expenses that require receipts for the accountant. Tell Bill what to put in Column G to do this:
Print the word Yes in any row where the total daily expenses are greater than or equal to $100.00.
If the daily expenses total is less than $100.00, leave the Column G entry for that row blank.
Bills business is already expanding. He thinks that in a few weeks he will need to hire one or two employees to help him. He knows that each new employee will need their own computer. He is also making the necessary changes so that the new employees will be working in a spare room in Bills house. Explain to Bill what networking options he has. Go through each type or configuration of network possible for him, making sure that you explain the pros and cons of each configuration. Finish with your suggestion for the network that he should set up and explain what new hardware will be required to do this.
With the possibility of three business computers in his home, and all of his business records possibly vulnerable, this would be a good time to advise Bill on how to set up a routine plan to protect and defend his new network. Provide a list of the five most important concerns for safety and security of the network and the computers in the network. For each concern, specify the action to be taken, and if applicable, what software you recommend be added to the system. Justify each of your recommendations

These theoretical concepts allow an understanding of what is the right path in terms of a balance between moral and just obligations of a business operating in a community. These theories of justice allow setting up a benchmark, which then serves as a guideline for businesses to practice corporate governance as effectively as possible. Critics argue that these theories are not set in stone, in terms of application across multiple business domains but provide an understanding, based on empirical research allowing a clear path to follow (Johnson, 2007). Once modified to a firms business model, its operations and the community where it operates, these theories serve as an invaluable asset towards the implementation of corporate governance by a business.

a six-part exercise comprised of the following sections:
1.    Ethical Question
2.    Introduction
3.    Position Statement
4.    Reasons in Support of Your Position
5.    Opposing Position Statement
6.    Reasons in Support of the Opposing Position

500 words, written in essay form, with six clearly labeled sections as indicated below, and include a title page and reference page.

Part 1: Ethical Question
Is it moral to use animals in medical experiments designed to treat or cure diseases that are devastating to humans?

Part 2: Introduction
In this section, introduce the topic and question at issue by doing the following (not necessarily in this exact order):
    Explain its relevance and importance.
Define any key terms and concepts.
Provide any relevant context and background information.
Briefly reference an idea, quote, or analysis of the issue that you have found in one of the required resources on the topic.

The introduction will be the longest section of this assignment and should be at least 300 words in one or two paragraphs. Place the introduction material under the Part 2: Introduction.

Part 3: Position Statement
Your work on the introduction section has likely unearthed various positions one might take on the ethical question you have chosen. In this section, you will formulate a position statement.
A position statement is a one sentence statement that articulates your position on the issue and directly answers the question you have raised. For example, if the question was, What is a physicians obligation with respect to telling the truth to his or her patients? a position statement might be A physician may never directly lie to a patient, but it may be moral for a physician to withhold information if the physician reasonably believes doing so directly benefits the patient. A different position statement might be: A physician may use any means necessary, including lying to a patient, if the physician believes that will produce the best overall results. However, the following statement would not be a sufficient position statement: A physician must always respect the rights of his or her patients. The reason this is not a sufficient position statement is that it does not directly answer the question concerning truth telling.
Think of the position statement as the strongest claim you would make if you were a prosecuting attorney making your opening statement to a jury, where you want to state precisely and directly the position you want them to believe.
Place the position statement under the Part 3: Position Statement heading.

Part 4: Reasons in Support of Your Position
Now that you have articulated a position on the issue, write a short paragraphjust a few sentencesthat presents and explains one or two of the strongest reasons in support of your position statement.
You want your supporting reason to explain why someone should support the position you are taking on the ethical question. A supporting reason is a consideration that helps to show why your position is stronger than another position.
One way to approach this is to imagine yourself in friendly conversation with someone who does not necessarily agree with your position (perhaps they disagree, or perhaps they are undecided). When you state your position, they might ask why you think that; the kind of response you would give is a supporting reason.
Supporting reasons can include many things including, but not limited to: an appeal to moral principles such as duty, justice, fairness and equality; the positive or negative effects of certain actions on policies; or a summary of facts, statistics or evidence and an explanation of how they support your view.
Place the supporting reason(s) under the Part 4: Reasons in Support of Your Position heading.

Part 5: Opposing Position Statement
Now that you have provided reasons to support your position statement, in this section you will take a step back from all of that and articulate a statement that expresses an opposing or contrary statement.
Think of the opposing position statement as the strongest claim you would make if you were the defense attorney making your opening statement to the jury immediately after they have heard the prosecutors statement.
Place the opposing position statement under the Part 5: Opposing Position Statement heading.

Part 6: Reasons in Support of the Opposing Position
In this section, write a short paragraphjust a few sentencesthat presents and explains one or two of the strongest reasons in support of the opposing position statement.
A strong opposing reason is a reason anyone would need to consider, even if they do not agree with the opposing position.
In other words, do not simply contradict claims that you make in Part 4, especially factual claims! You should strive to identify and articulate considerations in support of the opposing position that you think are accurate and true, or at least plausible, even if you still believe your own position has the most support overall.
If the reason(s) in support of the opposing position are ones you consider obviously false or indefensible, you should look for better reasons.
Put yourself in the position of a defense attorney who has to make the best possible case to the jury in defense of his or her client.
Place the opposing reasons under the Part 6: Reasons in Support of the Opposing Position heading.

Each group member will choose an element of the policy to design, and the group will collaborate on what the overall design and outline should look like and include components from end-user behavior, a training plan, file and folder access, social engineering safeguards, bring-your-own-device policies, use of external drives on company assets, security hardware, penetration testing, and affiliation of the information security department with law enforcement agencies.
MY SPECIFIC POLICY IS “REMOTE ACCESS POLICY”

To keep the scope narrow, your group should first describe what should be included and what should not be included in the policy (remember that a policy should clearly set management’s expectations).
After the scope has been defined, research the various components, and create an appropriate policy.
Prepare a Word document of 2-3 pages (excluding title page, abstract, and references page) that includes the network security policy for an organization that addresses all of the stated design requirements. It should be in APA format, including an introduction and conclusion.

What others groups in America were inspired by the Civil Rights Movement seeking protections and equal treatment under the law? What have been some of the notable effects of this “universalization of civil rights” as explained in the Chapter? Examine some (if any) of the differences between protections against racial discrimination and other types of discrimination such as those based on gender or other characteristics as the United States Supreme Court just recently decided regarding marriage rights under the Fourteenth Amendment to the Constitution.
