Students will go to the website for the Center for the Study of War and Society, (https://csws.utk.edu/oral-history-project/read-an-interview/) and choose one interview from either the European theater of operations (ETO) or the Pacific Theater of operations (PTO) and write a 1000-word minimum (about 4 pages), biography on the life of the individual they have chosen. Each essay should include all the basic information on the individual with attention to their participation in World War II. Students will also include a section in the essay on their personal reaction to the interview. The essay should be edited, polished and as engaging as possible. The more thorough your biography the better your grade will be. All quotes will need to be parenthetical citations in order to give proper credit to the author.
As a first step in designing your own human services program, it is important to identify your target population, the problem you are addressing with your program, and establish that there is a need for the proposed program in the community. This is important in order to determine feasibility and to gain support from stakeholders, decision-makers, funders, and the community.
