discuss three works of art. Select at least two examples from the lectures on Linear Perspective in Practice and Disegno and Artistic Practice and compare both with an example from any of the previous lectures, discussing the use of perspective or the role of drawing. Be sure to think particularly about form – how does the introduction of perspective or focus on disegno affect the style and appearance of the works? You should also discuss the subject and context for each as well. Make sure you fully identify each work by artist, title, and date.

You have to use the add-in tool called “Tree Plan” to solve this question here by using the Excel.
question: Jim Sellers is thinking about producing a new type of electric razor for men. If the market is good, he would get a return of $140,000, but if the market for this new type of razor is poor, he would lose $84,000. Because Ron Bush is a close friend of Jim Sellers, Jim is considering the possibility of using Bush Marketing Research to gather additional information about the market for the razor. Ron has suggested two options to Jim. The first alternative is a sophisticated questionnaire that would be administered to a test market. It will cost $5,000. The second alternative is to run a pilot study. This would involve producing a limited number of the new razors and trying to sell them in two cities that are typical of American cities. The pilot study is more accurate but is also more expensive. It will cost $20,000. Ron has suggested that it would be a good idea for Jim to conduct either the questionnaire or the pilot before making the decision concerning whether to produce the new razor.But Jim is not sure if the value of either option is worth the cost. For the sake of solving this problem, assume that Jim has the following probability estimates available: the probability of a successful market without performing the questionnaire or pilot study is 0.5, the probability of a successful market given a positive questionnaire result is 0.78, the probability of a successful market given a negative questionnaire result is 0.27, the probability of a successful market given a positive pilot study result is 0.89, and the probability of a successful market given a negative pilot study result is 0.18. Further, the probability of a positive questionnaire result is 0.45 and the probability of a positive pilot study result is also 0.45.
(a)Draw the decision tree for this problem and identify the best decision for Jim.
(b)What is the value of the questionnaire’s information? What is its efficiency?
(c)What is the value of the pilot study’s information? What is its efficiency?
In this assignment, you will develop an annotated bibliography for a research proposal.
An annotated bibliography means that besides the bibliography itself (which is an orderly list of article citations), brief summaries of each article are also provided.
*************INSTRUCTIONS
Identify at least eight SCHOLARLY PUBLICATIONS having to do with your proposal topic. Scholarly means that it is published in a peer-reviewed journal.
———That means that newspaper and magazine articles DO NOT count nor do popular books. Do not include dissertations, book reviews or presentations at conferences.
First, you will need to read the abstract to determine if the article that pops up in your search is indeed relevant; would you find it helpful to your research proposal? How?
For each article that you do find important and useful to your own research:
1) Cut and paste the citation as it appears in your search. The full citation should include the title of the article, the first and last name(s) of the author(s), the name of the journal in which the article appears, the year in which it was published, the volume/edition number, and the page numbers of the article.
2) Cut and paste the abstract of the article.
3) Write a 3-4 sentence summary justifying why you selected this particular article for your bibliography and how you anticipate it can assist you in your research proposal.
Electronic Resources from the Lehman Library is the easiest place to begin a search. Some of the links on this page will only work while you are on a college computer; for others, you can sign in from elsewhere using your library ID number (on the front of your ID card). From home, I especially recommend Social Science Plus Text, Ebsco Academic Premiere (for these two limit your search to peer reviewed articles), and JStor (which has many full text articles from a smaller, but excellent, list of journals many of which are not included in other data bases).
For some topics, Education Full Text, PsychAbstracts, and Medline may be appropriate. Sociological Abstracts includes a wide range of materials (use publication type=PT to eliminate conference papers and dissertations), but you will need to find the source for the actual texts of articles. Don’t forget that you can access many resources via the CUNY portal (www.cuny.edu), the same way you get to Blackboard.
Finding the actual articles
This is VERY IMPORTANT because the materials you find here will be the core of your literature review for the research proposal. Ebsco, ProQuest and JStor and some of the other data bases have many full text articles.
For other articles, it is possible you will have to go to the periodical room of the library (some education journals, including Sociology of Education, are stored in the Education Library on the same floor).
Sometimes you can find articles by searching for an author’s home page on the internet. If you cannot find a journal at Lehman on on the electronic databases, go to CUNYPlus and search for the journal title. This will tell you what other CUNY campuses have the journal. You will have to go to the campus to obtain the journal. The New York Public Library also has many scholarly books and journals.
The War on Drugs and its Lasting Effects on many South American / Latin-American countries – When and how it began, and what the socio-economic-political motivation behind it. Be sure to figure out WHAT POSITION you plan to take in this topic, so that your thesis statement is focused, and specific. It needs to represent your point of view clearly, and also mention at least two or three points that you will expand on in your body paragraphs.
Here are some links to articles in newspapers and magazines, but please, also do your own research:

In an essay of approximately 500 words, analyze a single artwork made between c.1963 to present. Your essay should incorporate both a detailed description and an interpretation of the work of art you select. You do not need to do in-depth research, but finding out some basic information about the artist and the artwork will likely help your ability to compose the essay (use reliable sources: e.g. museums, galleries, electronic sources found through Healey Library). If it is safe to do so, you are encouraged to visit a museum, gallery, or public place and write about a work you have seen in person (COVID-19 may well prevent this). Near Boston area
For more information about writing for art history, see Pop, How to Do Things with Pictures –especially pp. 3-8 in relation to research/ note-taking and pp. 17-21 on writing.
ANNOTATED BIBLIOGRAPHY: Due April 20th 2021
For your final paper assignment, you are required to include at least six academic journal references within the body of your paper through direct quotes and citations. Accordingly, you need to submit an annotated bibliography to me via the digital drop box by the deadline set in the course schedule. Please consult the following website for constructing your annotated bib:

FINAL RESEARCH PAPER: Due May 3rd 2021
This 10-15 page double-spaced assignment will require an annotated bibliography of the sources you use for this assignment, and will be the culmination of your scholarly research on a topic related to the course.
Based on the reading from the Netflix case in Chapter 4 in your book, please submit a 1 1/2 page analysis responding to the following questions:
1. Describe the two separate Netflix offerings.
2. What were three of Netflixs sources of competitive advantage in the DVD-by-mail business? Describe in detail.
3.What is the Netflix churn rate and what are the reasons behind the rate?
4.Use Porters five forces model to analyze Netflixs streaming service. You do not need to draw a diagram just write it out.
5.How does Netflix build its data assets? In what ways does its leverage this data asset?
Select a SINGLE news article on a global economic or financial topic from MSMBC, NPR, the Wall Street Journal, the New York Times or the Economist (or any other reputable source) dated within the previous two months and analyze the issue using the economic concepts and theory learned in this class.
This is NOT a research paper but rather an analysis of a media article. There should be only a single reference.
The Article: https://www.nytimes.com/2021/02/11/magazine/biden-economy.html
**REQUIRE AN FINANCIAL AND ECONOMIC GRAPH IN ORDER PRESENT SOME OF THE MATERIAL IN THE ARTICLE.
The purpose of the data exercises is to ensure that you are familiar with the methodology of collecting economic/financial data from the Web and analyzing it. These exercises include collecting the required data, creating a graph or table to present this information, and no more than three double-spaced pages of analysis of the data. Part of the purpose of the assignment is to teach you to write and present information concisely and to the point. Imagine that you are giving this to your boss or an important client and they will be able to devote only 7 minutes to reading your paper. What and how do you wish to communicate with them? Think about this question before you begin to write.
The point of view that you should take in addressing each topic is that your audience (see above) is ignorant of what this data represents and how it is measured. Your task is to explain what the concept is what it intends to measure, how it is measured and to what uses the data can be utilized. For example, the unemployment rate is a statistic in very common use and it is intended to measure the percentage of labor force (which itself is a very specific metric) is currently not working and is actively searching for work. Uses of this statistic are to find ways and means to reduce it, to allocate unemployment insurance, to gauge inflationary pressure, etc.

Criteria for Reading Response Papers
Reading Responses are substantive reflections on assigned readings, and will be due via the digital drop box as specified above. In this course, the Reading Responses will serve as the key to creating and learning, understanding, and evaluation. Each Response consists of at least 3-5 points with supporting quotes per chapter, and 1-2 points with supporting quotes per article and/or video that you reflect upon as they correlate with the concepts and theories discussed in each assigned reading.
The purpose of the Reading Response is to help you understand course readings and to synthesize ideas you find there.
Note that the reading summary should include direct citations from the assigned readings so that I can see that you have engaged in the readings and have contemplated the ramifications of this new knowledge / ideas on your own understanding and formation of gender and media. Make sure to use parenthetical references in the body of your paper [i.e., According to Campbell et al.,…..” (2014, Campbell et al., p.#).
The goal of your paper is not only to summarize the readings, but also to aim for analysis and evaluation (what is the thesis, how is it supported, what are its strengths and weaknesses) and comparison with other readings and ideas. Sometimes it helps to begin with questions, but then you should aim to try to answer the questions you raise. The tone of the responses should be academic / formal, although the use of first person is ok, so long as you do more than respond on a gut level to the readings. Gut responses are part of the thinking process, and they frequently lead you to greater understanding, but they need to be incorporated into other kinds of critical thinking that render themselves more formally (theoretically and conceptually in your written work). In other words, engage the reading and its ideas with all your critical faculties.
More specifically, you need to include the following information: the author(s) and title(s) you’re linking or discussing, the primary arguments addressed in the text(s), and what specific issues, arguments, problems, possibilities, etc. you’re addressing in your 5-7 page response paper. Articulate as carefully as possible the stances or arguments of the author(s), and then find a space for writing yourself into the conversation.
Your Reading Responses will be graded by the quality of their engagement with and understanding of the ideas presented in the readings and your adherence to the terms of the assignment, as well as organization, style, and mechanics. Late responses, or those not clearly tied with the readings and these specifications, will not be graded and will be marked as a zero.
Examples of well-written and documented student reading response papers are located in Blackboard.
SUMMARY for READING RESPONSE ESSAYS: In addition to the aforementioned criteria, here is a summary of the areas that you need to attend to:
A) Since we do not have any exams in the course, students are required to include a summary with direct quotes / citations from ALL readings assigned, including online links in addition to the course text AND videos (chapters and videos need at least 3 points / quotes and articles need at least one main point and quote);
B) be sure to include at least 3-5 points in your summaries from the assigned chapters along with 3-5 supporting quotes; 1-2 points and supporting quotes per article and video posted in the schedule;
C) use parenthetical references in the text when using quotes / citations [author, year, p. # if indicated];
D) be sure to include references and a bibliography in APA format [see bibme.org and click on APA style];
E) include your own voice, not just the summary, being careful to back up your analysis with cited quotes from the readings;
F) make sure to obtain assistance from the writing center if you struggle with writing! Even if you’re a strong writer, make sure to have someone proof read your paper before submission, and run spell check!
FORMAT: a written report of at least 1,800 words total (not including references), Times New Roman size 12 font, double-spaced
AIM: to research and reflect on current caste politics in India, including the relationship between caste and religion today, and create practices/visions of a post-prejudice world
DESCRIPTION: You will be doing an alternate form of the final project that other students in the course are completing in groups. We would like you to provide an overview of current caste politics in India in the form of a written report.
Your report should incorporate information you learn from at least 2 interviews about caste that you conduct with individuals who are not in this course, such as your friends, family members, mentors, and wider acquaintances. (We encourage you to conduct these interviews via phone call, video conferencing, etc.) Your report should also integrate your summary and analysis of at least 6 sources that have not been assigned as readings in this course. (Please do not just repeat what the sources say – go deeper and tell us what you think about them and why.)
Your report should ultimately aim to provide an overview of current caste politics in India, including the relationship between caste and religion today, and offer potential practices/visions of reaching a post-prejudice world in the context of the broader course themes (comparative analyses of race, religion, and caste in India and the United States).
In order to accomplish these aims, you will also need to interrogate your own worldviews about caste and religion and how these worldviews developed, and perhaps compare/contrast your perspective with those of the individuals you interview, in addition to incorporating your source research and analysis about current caste politics in India
