Debate Instructions:

You have been divided into two groups. Group A will support Booker T. Washington’s position. Group B will support W. E. B. Du Bois’s position. To participate in the debate, you need to research both positions. The required work will help you. Who will you be in the debate? Your character does not have to be an actual historical figure. You can be, for example, a domestic servant or a sharecropper. Just make sure that you ground your analysis in academic sources and you demonstrate you have done all the required work by integrating it into your debate positions. Stay in character for your responses because each response is part of the debating.

This debate will be focused on Group A.

The initial post must be written in character supporting your assigned position and then you are required to continue the debate by posting responses to the arguments of a minimum of two peers assigned to the opposing group.  You are encouraged to post more than this. Your two best responses will be graded. Whatever you write should be in character. Be creative! Remember that everything you argue, although in character, must be grounded in academic research and must demonstrate you have done the required work.

English 102: In this journal entry, I’d like to get to know you. Tell me about yourself, writing about a page: What motivated you to take this course? Do you have any experience with online learning? One of the most productive initiatives by the NYPD was the development and implementation of CompStat into their decision making.  The use of digital crime and victimization data and mapping.  This was one of the guiding forces behind the turnaround of the crime epidemic in NYC under Commissioner William Bratton.

In your Module Notes under Crime Control Strategies Bureau (Links to an external site.), review the link to CompStat.  Also go to the FBIs UCR (Links to an external site.), and the Bureau of Justice Statistics NCVS (Links to an external site.) pages.

You will research CompStat, the FBIs Uniform Crime Report, and the National Crime Victimization Survey.  Explain how these data sources might be used to develop plans to mitigate or thwart a crime of your choice.

1. Describe the crime and its current prevalence rate in the US

2. Explain the data that you would use from each source in your plan

3. Describe a plan based upon that data you would suggest being implemented

4. Keep in mind the stakeholders, resources needed, etc.

The paper will be at least 1,000 words (4 pages) in length.  APA formatting must be used; 1 margins, double-spacing, title page, reference page, Arial 11-point or Times New Roman 12-point font

1)The article, “Conception”, begins with two quotations. What is the significance of the quotations to the text and to each other?

2)Immediately after he animates the creature, Frankenstein calls the act a “catastrophe” (par.2). Why? Examine the details of Frankenstein’s description of the creature to support your answer.

3)Why does Frankenstein call his own creation a “demoniacal corpse” (par.3)? If his creation is a demon, what does that say about Frankenstein as a creator?

4)Analyze Frankenstein’s immediate repulsion toward his creation. What is the basis of his repulsion? Note that Frankenstein claims he had “selected [the creature’s] features as beautiful” (par.2). What is the relationship between beauty and horror? Cite specific passages from the text to support your position.

5)Hitchcock cites the work of Luigi Galvani, who sent electric charges through the bodies of dead frogs to watch their muscles move. How did scientific experiments and advances shape the environment in which Mary Godwin Shelley created the story Frankenstein? How do current developments, such as the creation of genetically modified organisms or other advances in medical technology, create the conditions in which scientists or doctors act like God? Are developments in medical technology as threatening today as they were in Shelley’s time? Why or why not?

*You will need to reference “Conception” by Susan Tyler Hitchcock and ” Frankenstein: the modern Prometheus” by Mary Shelley; Both of these articles can be found in the “Monsters a Bedford Spotlight Reader” by Andrew J. Hoffman*

Class: Managing Human Resources

Discussion: Creating Psychologically Safe Healthcare Teams

Background:
As you consider necessary qualities for a nurse executive, where do you place the capacity to persuade? Although the position may come with authority to make decisions and give orders, the ability to establish an environment where employees feel free to disagree may be as important, if not more so, than the power invested in your position.
Creating psychologically safe environments within a healthcare setting is one such example.

Environments are generally fashioned by the people in charge and changing how people react and respond is not as simple as flipping a switchor even issuing a directive. It often requires providing strong evidence that encourages a change in behavior.
For this Discussion, you will explore the process of creating psychologically safe healthcare teams by considering how you would educate others about the necessity of providing psychological safety and, specifically, how to achieve it.

ASSIGNMENT: (ALL components must be covered)
Review the Learning Resources on psychological safety. In particular, review the video resources featuring Amy Edmondson, a Harvard professor and expert on psychological safety in the workplace.
Consider the role of team leaders in creating psychologically safe environments, and based on the resources provided, the specific benefits for healthcare organizations.
Reflect on your role as a nurse executive and how you would explain to team leaders and other managers in a healthcare setting their roles in creating psychologically safe environments for team members, including benefits for teams and the organization. Consider possible types of resistance from team leaders and others, and how you would respond.

Include minimum 3 in text citations

RUBRIC:
Answers all parts of the discussion question(s) expectations with reflective critical analysis and synthesis of knowledge gained from the course readings for the module and current credible sources. Supported by at least three current (no more than 5yrs old; preferably from the resources attached), credible sources. Written clearly and concisely with no grammatical or spelling errors and fully adheres to current APA manual writing rules and style.

Each student will be given Admin access to a live “client” Facebook page. If you manage a page for a Company, group or other organization, you may request instructor approval to use your own client in this assignment.

Using the metrics and analytics material introduced in this module, put your critical thinking skills to track the metrics over time and produce a report in memo form written to your CLIENT, including screenshots of at least 8 data fields (metrics) followed by a paragraph (or two) interpreting the raw data. Draw conclusions and end your report with a list of specific recommendations for the client moving forward. In other words, based on the research, tell them what this page could improve upon.

NOTE: You must do this assignment on a laptop or desktop. No work done on a Smartphone will be accepted.

NOTE: You must change the date field within Facebook Insights so you can report on a 3-month period of date. Do not use any screenshots of the default summary landing page in Insights.

To restate the project – using ALL of the “Insights” available to you at this social media account, write a report in the form of a professional MEMO to the client, providing a synopsis and analysis (report) of how the social network is performing for the company. In other words, critique the performance using ONLY data gleaned through the client’s metrics in “Facebook insights” and offer an educated analysis in a professional format. Double-space and come up with a MEMO format heading in a word doc. Upload the completed Word doc to this space on Canvas.

HERE (Links to an external site.) is an article that will help you complete this assignment. Please also read the other REQUIRED files/documents in the module!

Subject: Performance report for the Murray State University Facebook Business Page

After taking a deep look into the MSU Facebook Insights’ metrics, here are my recommendations moving forward:

A bulleted list of specific recommendation may be inserted here OR at the end of the MEMO.

Explanations for each of these recommended improvements are as follows:

GRAPHIC HERE – Metrics on When Fans are on the PAGE

First, the metrics above show that Wednesday is the most active day of the week for our page fans. Although it is a significant difference, it could still affect the timing of major promotions. Also, the important thing to note from this metric is to take note that followers are more active during the late evening times. While most of Murray State Universitys posts are scheduled or posted out during the late morning to early afternoon times, these metrics clearly show more engagement could be possible if posts were scheduled out in the late evening between the times of 6 p.m. and 9 p.m.

GRAPHIC HERE – Metrics on specific post engagement

Second, of the most recent posts to the MSU page, the one with the most organic engagement is the results post for All-Campus Sing. Unlike most of the other posts around that time, this post was just text. It had no video or picture, not even a link to an outside website or a link to someone elses Facebook profile, yet it still performed well because it was a major campus tradition.

GRAPHIC HERE – Metrics about competitors’ pages

Next, from this metric, comparisons with Murray State to other competitors can be analyzed. All these social media pages, Murray State University works closely with. By regularly checking the standings with this metric, one can determine which pages to best partner with to benefit both pages overall. At this time, Murray State Alumni and Friends is seeing the most engagement.

GRAPHIC HERE – Metrics on which devices fans are accessing the page from

From this metric, its not surprising that more than a majority of followers are viewing the Murray State University page from mobile devices. Although there isnt really anything to do to try and change that, however, its important to keep this in mind when running promotions. Graphics and videos need to be compatible with mobile devices.

GRAPHIC HERE – Metrics on the demographic breakdown of page fans

Not surprisingly, the largest age demographic is college age, between the ages of 18 and 24. This is good because Murray State is a college and its trying to recruit and retain this demographic as students. But it also means posting about alumni events or parents’ events might not be as engaging as intended.

Murray State University has many international students from all over the world, and while that is taken into account when posts are made, this is an important metric to look at how Murray State University can effectively incorporate diversity into everyday posts with the most likely form of success.

GRAPHIC HERE – More metrics relating to demographics of fans

This metric shows that women are a key demographic of Murray State University. The largest demographic is women between the ages of 25 and 34 which would be mothers most likely. Considering this demographic can help the University tailor its posts to better target women in general and mothers more specifically.

GRAPHIC HERE – Metrics on Video engagement

Finally, a very important metric to consider is the influence of videos on engagement. Here, from the metrics, it can be concluded that live videos are even more effective than normal videos. Also, the 47-second video with the best performance is a live video from all campus sing, again affirming that lining posts up with campus traditions result in the best engagement.

Thank you for your time and consideration, please let me know if you have any further questions.

I scored a 100 on my IQ test

For this assignment, write a 2-page double-spaced paper:

Share your results, if you feel comfortable. Do you believe it truly reflects your intelligence? What are some things you can do to improve your intelligence? Why do you believe these things will improve your intelligence? Cite from your unit readings and/or outsides resources to support your statements about ways to improve your intelligence.

Many argue that IQ tests only measure analytical intelligence. But other researchers have argued that there is more than one type of intelligence. Sternberg proposed a triarchic theory of intelligence, and Gardner proposed 8 specific intelligences. What do you think is the best model for measuring intelligence, and why? Cite from your unit readings and/or outside resources.

Your paper must include APA-formatted in-text citations and an APA-formatted reference page.

Instructions
For Essay 1, focus on Bronfenbrenners ecological perspective. Name and define each of 5 contexts, and provide an example from your life that clearly shows your understanding of the interactions of at least 2 contexts. For the essay:

Your writing should be 750-900 words (no more or no less, and not including your Title Page, in-line citations or References) presented in APA 6th style. You should use Times New Roman 12 font, double-space, and have 1 margins on all 4 sides. You will earn 0.5 point for meeting the size requirement.

On the essays, you will need to name and define the proper terminology associated with the theory and/or theorist that serves as a basis for your reply. Please bold, italicize, and underline this vocabulary the first time it occurs in each essay.

Focus on original thought about material as you provide a comprehensive definition. You will earn 5 points for including all the required terms with correct and comprehensive definitions. Do not simply replicate or quote. Keeping in mind that excessive quoting is against the Student Code of Conduct (found at http://scai.kennesaw.edu/KSU_Codes_of_Conduct_2018-2019.pdf), paraphrase IN YOUR OWN WORDS. Nonetheless, if you choose to quote, you must do so properly and having more than one line (or approximately 10 words) of quoted text on a single page will be considered plagiarism. Be forewarned that your writing may be filtered through plagiarism detection software (and may become part of the TurnItIn database), and the Student Conduct and Academic Integrity (SCAI) procedures will be followed.

Quality writing is substantive, logical, cognitive, on-topic, and supported with an example. You will earn 2 points for correct and detailed examples. Show your understanding through original (not from the text, lecture, or commonly known), real-world personal examples which supports or refutes the material. Provide a specific behavioral scenario based on your experience that demonstrates a chosen term (you are not psychoanalyzing anyone else), and include vivid details, not just broad statements. The depth of the examples you choose to share will be based on your comfort with introspection, self-analysis, and self-disclosure. Examples about friends or family or generically about someone else do not meet the personal example criteria. Other people can be included in a descriptive scenario, but the example must come back to you

You should paraphrase, cite in-body, and reference using APA 6th style. Minimally include the specific page(s) from the text, and the specific slide(s) from the PowerPoint used. You should also paraphrase, cite, and reference any materials outside the course. While unnecessary, if you choose to go outside course materials, you must both cite and reference the source(s). You will earn 0.5 point for properly citing and referencing all sources.
