Option #2: Slave Labor
Aaron S. Fogleman wrote From slaves, convicts and servants to free passengers in which he described colonial labor. Using your textbook, as well as the assigned readings, do the following in a paper:

Explain the growth of the slave labor system in the American colonies.
Explain whether some colonies were more reliant on slave labor than others, and if so, why that was.
Explain how this affected their development. Be sure to address changes in the colonial slave labor system after 1619, as well as the transition from an indentured servitude labor system to a slave system.
Directions:

Your paper should be 2-3 pages long, not including the required Title and References pages.
Format your paper according to APA style, following the CSU Global Writing Center (Links to an external site.).
You can see a sample paper here (Links to an external site.).
Your paper should include an introduction, a body with at least three fully developed paragraphs, and a conclusion. It should contain a fully developed and supported thesis statement.
Include a minimum of two academic sources (journal articles, books, etc.) other than the textbook for the course.

Discussion requirements

Post engaging, thoughtful content
Share content that both reflects your understanding of the course material and makes appropriate applications beyond the assigned reading (insights, real-life examples).  Be sure to think of the posts as part of a larger conversation; ask/answer questions within the posts. Questions left unanswered may impact your score for that discussion.
Compose your responses in a word processing program
Consider using programs such as Word first; save this file to your computer or USB flash drive. Attach the file or copy and paste the text into the message area of the Discussion Board. Should there be an interruption in your Internet connection, you will not lose any work.
Word count
Initial posts must be greater than 250 words
Replies must be at least 75 words
No Fluff Zone
Please carefully review What is a Discussion Board  to thoroughly understand the definition of both an Initial Post and Reply.
Remember to write succinctly, i.e., in a brief and clearly expressed manner paying attention to fully respond to all questions.
Please note:  where you are welcome to include the original question in your initial post or reply, these are not included in the word count.
Carefully adhere to posting timelines
Generally, initial posts are due on Day 4 of a given week with a minimum of 2 replies to either peers or faculty by Day 7 of the same. This pacing allows peers to read/respond to classmates ideas.
Logging in and posting multiple posts on one day alone will not suffice.  Students should be actively engaged throughout the week to be eligible for full weekly credit.
Discussion Forums close weekly on Day 7. The ability to participate in/receive credit for a weeks discussion ends after that Day 7 mark.
Unfortunately, there is no way to grant extensions fairly for forums, no different than missing a class of a face to face course, participation is no longer possible after Day 4 for an initial post and Day 7 for peer replies.
Discussion Forum Grades
Students will be held accountable for and graded using the Discussion Board Rubric for both initial posts and replies.  Please refer to the Discussion Forum Grading Rubric  for the criteria and grading standards used in all IU online discussion forum posts.
Initial posts are worth a total of 10 points
The two required peer responses are each worth 5 points
Therefore, the maximum achievable final grade for each forum is 20 points

Discuss and compare the ways in which the primary characters in these novels rebel against the conditions of their lives, taking into consideration the different circumstances each character confronts, the nature of their internal conflicts, and how these conflicts manifest themselves in the texts (and in the worlds described therein).

Interested in creative, imaginative work that is firmly based in and engaged with the texts under discussion (this will not require any specialized knowledge beyond whats in these novels). When you use a quotation, you should note the precise page number on which it appears. You need not use any outside sources, as this is basically a response paper.

The two books are Reinaldo Arenass Singing from the Well and Jacques Stephen Alexiss In the Flicker of an Eyelid. ( I don’t have access to the books.)

Please read the attached thread and reply to it. Reply using at least 275 words. Referenced does not count in word count. You must use at least 3 references.  Rubric and instructions are included along with the text book for the class.

Hello,

I am writing a literature review for my research course. I will be uploading my statement of purpose.

My research interest is about programs that are created to make college more accessible to low-income students/students of color. I would like to see if these kinds of programs actually help low-income or students of color graduate college compared to students whose schools do not offer these kinds of programs. I am also open to figuring out how to further refine or any new angle I can explore.
