WEEKLY RESPONSE JOURNAL: Every week you are expected to write four pages,
at least 1000 words, of reflections and thoughts about the reading for the week. I will
provide reading questions each week to help guide these reflections, but whether you
stick to mine or develop your own is up to you. The purpose of these reflections is
first to help prepare for the class discussion; second, to work through the text, open it
up and; third, to connect it to larger questions you have about American politics,
particularly contemporary ones. One expectation is that you cite from the readings
each week and that you develop questions or problems in the text that youd like to
develop further in class. A second, expectation is that you bring in, either directly
connected to the reading or not, an issue of contemporary politics that you have been
thinking about that week. These responses should be uploaded no later than 10pm the
night before class on Blackboard, as I would like to have read them before we meet. I
will discuss this in class, but this journal is to be taken seriously as it comprises the
majority of your grade. PLEASE READ THE UPLOADED FILE FROM INTRODUCTION THROUGH TO CHAPTER 4 TO MAKE THE SUBMISSION.

You recognize your role as a client advocate and have decided to work with the American Nurses Association related to health policy issues. You choose to write a letter to your national legislator in your voting district addressing legal policies associated with genetic discrimination that you have seen either in person or in the news. Write a professional letter to your federal senator demonstrating your client advocacy about genetic discrimination and how it correlates to legal and professional policies.

Instructions

Describe the background of genetic discrimination of your choice to include the significance of this specific problem.
Discuss how the Genetic Information Nondiscrimination Act of 2008 applies to the genetic discrimination you identified.
Include in your letter how clients, families, and communities could benefit from your recommendations.

So the “journal” is two-three entries for each reading in my class for this semester.
this includes:
William Shakespeare, King Lear (England) signet edition
Wole Soyinka, Ak (Nigeria)
Eunice Lipton, Alias Olympia (United States)
Paule Marshall, Chosen Place, Timeless People (Caribbean)
Jane Austen, Pride and Prejudice (England)

we are currently on Chosen Place.
each work needs two-three entries on it and it would be great if the writer could begin writing the entries and i could also provide notes that my professor has given on each reading. the whole “journal” is due on the last day of class.

below are the instructions on the journal given by the professor

Topics for the Journal are open. The entries are not rough notes, but complete short pieces of writing. The complete journal should not exceed a total of 3,000 words.

The format for the journal consists of two or three entries for each work. The entries will consist of your observations, commentaries and assessments of the works. You can include connections to the present time and among the various works of the semester. Do not include plot summary. If you like, you can present an entry of overview of questions or considerations that arise from a particular reading.

This paper must have a clear, critical thesis that is supported throughout the body of the paper.
-One film should be chosen as a focus.

-Discuss the filmmaker’s career, including background, colleagues and influence. Do this in the context of your thesis.

-Provide an analysis of the film as a way to talk about the filmmaker’s style, interests and techniques. Consider styles or artists whose work they may be reacting to or rejecting, and assert how such a relationship may be critically significant. Do this in the context of your thesis.

-At least two ideas from Benjamin and/or Greenberg, should be incorporated into the larger critical argument of the paper. Use citations. Do this in the context of your thesis.

-Ideas from sources should be cited within the paper. Paper must have a works cited page

Write-up a CCS using the following outline format. Your response should be factual and concise (brief but comprehensive). You are required to use at least one other source besides your textbook. For additional online resources, consider the web sites provided on the External Links page and/or the Chapter Weblinks provided on the Course Materials page. A direct internet search of the disease will also like reveal organizations specific to that disorder (i.e. American Diabetes Association). References should be provided using a standard citation (MLA or APA). For more information on referencing you source, visit the Hinkle Library online and select finding research help. There is a link to the library on the home page of this course. Title: Clinical Suspicion (diagnosis) * I. Etiology/Pathogenesis/Morphology II. Clinical Manifestations/Epidemiology III. The abdominal cramps she could tolerate, after all Samantha had severe menstrual cramps since she was a young teen, so she was no stranger to this kind of pain. And diarrhea is one thing but bloody diarrhea is entirely another. Given the situation she was not at all alarmed when her doctor ordered a colonoscopy. What was particularly alarming to her now as her physician went over the results and treatment options however, was to learn that while mild cases could generally be controlled with dietary changes such as increased fiber, avoidance of caffeine, lactose and heavily spiced foods; the worse cases often required bowel resection.

Sustaining whole system change as a leader in special education will require establishing a collaborative culture in which additional leaders are developed across various levels of the organization. Fullan and Quinn (2016) suggest that, as leaders master the four components of the Coherence Framework, not only do the leaders become more effective, but the system as a whole becomes more effective and more likely to sustain the change. As you reflect on the four components of the framework, consider your strengths and areas of greatest need as a leader in special education. For this Discussion, you will consider the four components of the Coherence Framework and identify what you believe are the 10 most important aspects of creating and sustaining coherence as a leader in the field of special education.
To Prepare:
Review Figure 6.3 of Chapter 6 in the Fullan and Quinn text as you reflect on the leadership competencies needed to sustain whole systems change.
Identify the top 10 aspects you believe are important in being a leader in special education. Support your choices with research. In Module 7, you will create a video presentation using these top 10 aspects.

Your top 10 most important aspects of being a leader in special education. Consider the leadership competencies for whole system improvement outlined in Figure 6.3. Support your choices with evidence from the research.

Scenario

You are a nursing manager of the education and innovations department at a large nonprofit academic medical center. You do work at the flagship hospital, but there are three additional campuses and several affiliated facilities throughout three additional states. Therefore, technology is heavily relied upon for consistent and reliable communication for interdisciplinary care. Recently, the CNO sent you a patient satisfaction survey highlighting how impressed this patient was with their nurses timeliness of answering their questions. The patient continued to share that the nurse used their personal cell phone to reach out to the patients provider to get clarification of the patients discharge instructions. The patient loved their quick response and wanted to highlight this as a best practice for all healthcare professionals.

Instructions

You have just completed a technology usage assessment of the healthcare staff across departments, and it has come to your attention that several nurses occasionally communicate with medical providers through text on their personal cell phones, using their phones messaging service. The nurses found that they are able to meet their patient needs more quickly. Your assessment also discovered that a nurse used their personal cell phone to take a picture of a patients foot ulcer. The picture was posted on social media as a reminder to diabetics the importance of managing their blood sugars. As the nursing education manager it is your responsibility to ensure staff are following the hospital polices and your technology assessment has highlighted that the staff is in urgent need of HIPAA training and Smart Phone use.

Using the scenario above create a mandatory training for all staff using PowerPoint with voice over including the following:

Examine personal Smart Phone use and its implications in Healthcare
Identify and explain a minimum of 3 unethical uses of Smartphones in healthcare (including text messaging and pictures)
Discuss potential benefits to appropriate Smartphone use in healthcare
Examine judicious use of Social Media and its implications in Healthcare
Potential benefits to appropriate use of Social Media in healthcare
Identify a minimum of 3 unethical uses of Social Media (as reviewed by NCSBN)
Describe regulatory bodies and Ethical Frameworks used to protect Personal Health Information (PHI)
Investigate the role of HIPAA, HITECH, and Nursing Code of Ethics
Determine the legal consequences associated with unethical or illegal Smart Phone and Social Media use.
Format

Standard American English (correct grammar, punctuation, etc.)
