Grad Paper Instructions/Rubric

Topics: Your choice of anything related to metabolomics, or a related analytical technique. You may be very broad, very specific, or in between.

COVER PAGE:
Use a cover page with the title, name, date, course, etc. (5 Points)

BODY:
The body of your paper should have 5 pages, not including figures. Figures are not required. Figures are allowed, but should be included at the end of the paper just before the references. Space taken up by figures will NOT count toward the 5 page requirement. No more than 2 figures allowed. Figures will not count toward or against the grade. (75 Points)

REFERENCES/BIBLIOGRAPHY:
You need at least 2 references (references for the figures do not count). Cite the references at the end.
You MUST note the references in the body of the text as each is used. Just a list at the end will not get full credit. (10 Points)

FORMAT AND STYLE:
Use 11 or 12 font with double-spacing and 1 inch margins. The font used should be a common font that is easy to read. I do not care what style you use. I prefer APA, but any recognized style is acceptable. Regardless, you MUST choose a style, it is up to you. (10 Points)

Six-year-oldJon Benet Ramsey was found murdered in her Boulder, Colorado home on December 26, 1996. No one has ever been charged in the case and the investigation is still open. Early suspicion fell on her parents, but they were exonerated after DNA at the scene was found to belong to a male unrelated to the Ramsey family. The police department has been criticized in the way they handled the case, with many suggesting that it was their lack of investigative skills and scene contamination that has led to this case still being open. Page 306 in your textbook lists the 10 most common errorscommitted during a death investigation. Using the internet (dont use Wikipedia) and other research means that are at your disposal, research this case. What errors did the initial responding officers and investigators commit? Now, knowing that, you have been assigned to investigate this cold case. What steps would you take to solve it? How would you undo the damage done by previous investigators?

First, read the following portion of the assigned textbook:

Hart, That Old-Time Religion in Modern America, chapters 4-7

Then, submit a 1-page, single-spaced response to this reading that addresses the following:

Definitions: List 2 words/concepts you did not understand when you came across them in the reading and their definitions.
Summary: Summarize the reading’s argument (what the author is explaining in these chapters) in 150-200 words.
Analysis: Explain what you found new, compelling, or unconvincing (and why) in 150-200 words.

I am so sorry I still dont have the book, it was supposed to be here this week I cant wait any longer though. Please just do your best and give me something to turn in. Thank you so much for all your hard work!

In the conclusion you should restate the thesis.

I added a document which consists of two non continued paragraphs which you might want to include or rewrite.

Choose ONE of the following hypothetical cases for your Quiz response.

Submit a paper addressing all of the questions below regarding the case you choose.

1.    What do you consider would be the primary DSM-5 diagnosis or diagnoses for this client? Note any and all that you are considering at this time, i.e.: differential diagnoses.

2.    What DSM-5 criteria does the client meet for each of the diagnoses you are proposing?

3.    What is one comorbid factor to be considered in diagnosing this client?

4.    What is one ethical concern relevant in diagnosing this client?

5.    What is one cultural factor relevant in diagnosing this client?

Pick one. Please write an introduction and a conclusion, cite from the poem, and explain your quotes. Proofread before you submit your 500+ word essay.

1. Look up the concept of contrapasso, and explain that in some detail for two sinners.

2. Explain why the falsifiers are punished so severely. You’ll need to discuss this in terms of the larger moral scheme of the Inferno that Virgil laid out for you.

Write a four-part essay to explain and argue whether the rule of law is valuable.

The structure of this essay is the following:

Part 1: They say that the rule of law is/is not valuable because
Part 2: I say that the rule of law is not/is valuable because
Part 3: One might object that
Part 4: I reply that

Notes:
(i) The format of this assignment is essentially the same as the previous two, except that it is expanded from four paragraphs to four parts, and you will need to elaborate your arguments in greater detail. However, you still need to write concisely and should avoid writing long, multi-argument paragraphs.

(ii) Word limit: 600 words.

(iii) Include a word count.

(iv) Please draw upon at least one of the guest lectures to explain and/or support your arguments. (I made the essay question more general so that you would have more room to use what youve learnt in the guest lecture.)

(v) Make sure that the argument in part 2 is contrary to that in part 1, though it need not directly engage the one in part 1. But your objection in part 3 should directly engage the argument in part 2, and your reply in part 4 directly engages the objection in part 3.

(vi) Write clearly and comprehensibly. Your assignment will be assessed partly based on clarity and comprehensibility.
