Argumentation Essay

Write a 750-1000 word argumentation/persuasion essay using any approach as a method of development.

An effective argumentative essay must have evidence to make its case; most arguments that occur in daily life happen in the heat of the moment and are more likely directed toward saving one’s own pride than toward giving clear and supportive proof to one’s claims.

Writing Approach

Knowing how to brainstorm is going to save you from writing a weak essay. Also, knowing how to support your claims with evidence from outside sources will further strengthen your essay. For that reason, this assignment requires the use of two references. In addition, you will add a Works Cited page at the end of your essay. Finally, your Works Cited page will be in MLA (Modern Language Association) format so that all information provided will be easy for your reader to find.

Before attempting this essay:

Review all of the chapter sections located in Lessons 6 and 7.
Review the available documents and sources located at the Helpful Resources folder on the course menu.
Writing Assignment

Purpose: to persuade

Method of Development: your choice

Choose your own topic, but make sure that it is something that can actually be argued.  You cannot argue something that is a fact. You can argue for or against something. Some examples are:

Should teenagers be able to play violent video games?
Should cellphones be allowed in the classroom?
Is social media destroying the way we communicate?
The above items can be argued but there are many others to choose from. The choice is yours. If you have something in mind but you are unsure if it will work as an argumentative/persuasive essay, please send me a message through the Messages link for assistance.

Reminders:

Brainstorm for topics.
Choose one topic, choose a method of development, and organize all details accordingly.
Research for appropriate evidence to support your argument. While you are researching, be sure to note all information necessary to fill out your Works Cited page for that entry.
Remember your conclusion and your Works Cited page in MLA format.
Check the syllabus for due dates.
Complete your assignment using word-processing software such as MS Word 365 (download free software at https://products.office.com/en-us/student?ms.officeurl=getoffice365), LibreOffice (download free software at https://www.libreoffice.org/download), or other per course requirements. Save your file as an .rtf file or .doc to ensure that it can be opened at any computer.

Submit your assignment by selecting the Argumentative Essay link, browsing to, and attaching your saved file. Make sure to select SUBMIT. You may view your posting both on this page and under My Grade (available under Tools).

You will be asked to briefly discuss a theoretical issue and then to fulfill a particular empirical study (see screenshot).

Your paper should be about 7 pages long (not counting title, references, etc.) and consist of three major parts.

1) In the first part, you should discuss the theory.
As a point of departure, read the literature as provided on the last slide of the respective lecture session. In the cited textbooks, take also a look at chapters that were not covered in the lecture sessions. Additional academic literature can be found by checking on scholar.google.com which academic papers refer to the ones discussed in the lectures and seminars.

2) After that, you should describe the appropriate method in a way that makes clear you understood it. The methods were discussed in the seminars and can be found described in the corresponding sets of slides. Of course, you are welcome to use additional sources explaining the method but should not go beyond what is demanded in the instructions. (have a look in the screenshots regarding the methods). see additional material (screenshots form excel)

3) The major part of your exam (say, about half of the total length) should consist of the results and an interpretation.(include grasp)

The only data source you need is Eurostat, as the software I recommend Excel though you are free to use whatever you prefer. Being creative, finding appropriate data, and solutions to problems (e.g., missing data) are part of the exercise and will largely contribute to the grade.

Please note that the style of writing and quality of figures and tables also account for your grade.

attaching is the company summary you wrote for me before. Below are requirements for the paper.

1.    Locate a publicly traded company in an industry that interests you.  Find a publicly traded competitor which is suitable for a merger or acquisition with this firm.

2.      Write a ten page double spaced paper (not including exhibits) on why the company should be acquired and what purchase price should be paid.  In addition to a hard copy, a copy of your paper on disk is required.  The disk label should include your topic and all members of your group.  Your analysis should include the real reasons behind the merger and not the standard answers.  Major topics should include:  A brief background of the industry which the company operates, a background on the company and the management team, the acquisition purchase price (you may want to include a base purchase price and the maximum purchase price your firm would be willing to pay), what makes this merger a good fit, a brief strategy on how the company will operate after the merger, and how the deal would be financed.

3.    You have an enormous amount of material to use for this project.  Annual Reports and 10Ks can be obtained by contacting the companys Investor Services Department.

Two of the major evaluation criteria for the paper are:
1)    How well do you apply the financial concepts and analysis for your proposed acquisition.
2)    The quality and originality of the recommendations (and how well they tie to your analysis) of the company.
3)    The quality of your twenty minute presentation with two analytical questions from the class.

The paper must follow APA Format. The maximum length of the paper is 15 double spaced pages, excluding references and abstract. You may attach as many pages as appendixes of data, tables, etc. as you need. A financial model with a discounted cash flow valuation is required and should be included in the paper to support your analysis.

Class,

Review the three corporate Web sites below. Identify the markets the companies serve, the hospitality services they provide, and job opportunities that are available.  For the discussion, also describe how you may have experienced their service before or something that you learned about the company that surprised you or that you didn’t know before. Peer replies should expand upon the original post by offering additional information or providing a comparison to a different company.

ust because you thought of an interesting research question and have a desire to conduct research does not mean that your research will automatically be supported by faculty or funded by an organization. In order to gain stakeholder approval, you must submit a research proposal. Much like an outline of a paper or a treatment of a movie script, the research proposal contains several parts that begin with a research question and end with a literature review. For this Assignment, you compile a research proposal that includes a research problem, research question, and a literature review.

For this Assignment, choose between the case studies entitled “Social Work Research: Couple Counseling” and “Social Work Research: Using Multiple Assessments.” Consider how you might select among the issues presented to formulate a research proposal.

Be sure to consult the outline in Chapter 14 the Yegidis et al. text for content suggestions for the sections of a research proposal. As you review existing research studies, notice how the authors identify a problem, focus the research question, and summarize relevant literature. These can provide you with a model for your research proposal.

Submit a 5- to 6-page research proposal stating both a research problem and a broad research question (may be either qualitative or quantitative). Use 610 of the most relevant literature resources to support the need for the study, define concepts, and define variables relevant to the question. Include a literature review explaining what previous research has found in relation to your problem and question. The literature review should also include a description of methods used by previous researchers. Finally, be sure to explain how your proposed study addresses a gap in existing knowledge.

Step 1: Using the Concordes Online Library or other scholarly websites, review the Hippocratic Oath and what it truly means for healthcare professionals. Research the developmental stages of a fetus and research your state laws in regard to abortion and late-term abortion.

Step 2: Create an essay that addresses how a healthcare professional is allowed to perform an abortion knowing they have taken an oath to do no harm. Even if you dont agree with abortion, you still need to provide a coherent, quality essay regarding how medical professionals can complete this medical procedure without losing their license.
