1.  What is the history of voting in America, how has it changed over time and for whom?
2.  Historically speaking, are there segments of the population who have benefited more from having access to the ballot? If so, discuss the benefits for those who had access as opposed to those who did not.  If you do not believe there have been segments of the population who disproportionately benefited from having access to voting, please explain your position.
3.  Are there any barriers that exist today with voting rights and access and, if so, what are they?  Whether yes or no, please elaborate on your stance.
4.  Discuss your understanding of the relationship between voting and social work practice, drawing from historical examples, information you have read, employment experiences, or what you might imagine it to be based on what you’ve learned during your MSW educational experience.
5.  Describe the role of a social worker at the micro, mezzo and macro level of practice as it relates to voting rights and access.  How might they intervene at each level and in what kinds of agencies might they be employed?
6.  Explain why voting is either important or unimportant to you and why.  Reflect on whether your view on this is different using your personal and professional lenses.

This week we have been discussing the 3 Theories of Compensation:

1. Reinforcement and Expectancy

2. Agency, and

3. Equity

Do the 3 theories of compensation remain consistent even with the Coronavirus affecting the workplace and our lives? For example, according to the Equity Theory, there should be equity in the pay structure of an employees remuneration. If the employee feels he is not being paid fairly for the amount of work he does in a day, it will result in lower productivity, increased turnover and high absenteeism.

Looking at the amount of work our nurses and doctors are performing, does the Equity Theory still apply? What about the cashiers working in our local supermarkets? Or our truck drivers? Do these theories remain consistent, or does it change in the face of this pandemic?

Essay #4: Rogerian Rhetoric
Due Nov 24 by 11:59pm Points 100 Submitting a file upload File Types doc, docx, and pdf Available until Dec 4 at 11:59pm
You will write a Rogerian Argument in which you mediate opposing arguments from multiple sources.

For this assignment, you must select at least two sources that express competing opinions on a specific problem. Your task is to mediate those two stances, finding a compromise between the two opinions that you can support. Since you will need to form a compromise, try to avoid topics where no middle ground can be found, or where one side is obviously right or wrong.

Your final paper will follow this organizational structure:

An introduction to the problem, with a compromise thesis
Summary of one position
Fair discussion of why that position is held
Summary of the opposing position
Fair discussion of why that position is held
Your new argument that is a compromise drawn from these two sides

Note that these can, and likely should, be combinedin other words, you dont need to write six separate paragraphs for your paper (although you can, if you really want to).

GUIDELINES:

Research requirements: your paper must include at least two secondary sourcesat least one for each side. You may consider finding more in order to establish your topic or to support your compromise, if you wish. You can use one of our assigned readings from units 1-3 for one of the sides, but I want you to find an opposing viewpoint on your own.
Word count: 800-1000 words (counting only the essay, not the works cited page).
Format paper according to MLA style.
Write formally. First-person is likely inappropriate.
Be sure to bring drafts with you on peer review days. If you are unable to participate in a peer review day, you will lose five points on your final paper grade each time.
Work must be submitted in a .doc Word document format to be accepted.

In section 13.4 of the textbook for this module, the assumptions of linear regression are discussed. They include:

Linearity: X and Y have a linear relationship.
Homoscedasticity: The errors are constant.
Independence: The X variables are independent of each other.
Normality: Y is normally distributed.
Based on the discussion regarding these assumptions in this textbook section as well as your own additional research, discuss the potential impact of assumption violations on the interpretation of regression results. In other words, what happens to the regression output and the value of the interpretation if one of the assumptions does not hold? Choose ONE assumption and discuss how the violation of this ONE assumption impacts the validity of the regression results.

Keep in mind: you should put the discussion into your own words. Do not just copy and paste technical information from the textbook or another source.

Really strive to understand what the assumption means and how the violation of it impacts the output from a practical perspective.

For Module 3, you should read through the following material in this textbook.

Chapter 13: Linear Regression and Correlation
Sections 13.1, 13.2, 13.3 and 13.7 only
This chapter introduces correlation coefficients and linear regression analysis. Section 13.7 explains how to create regression estimates in Excel. There is also tutorial link below that explains how to use that tool. We will cover the remaining sections in Module 4.

You are now familiar with several tools in the Analysis Toolpak. Regression analysis is just another one of those tools. Please review the following tutorial for help in generating regression estimates in Excel:

It is often stated that the United States does not have two systems of courts (i.e. State and Federal), rather, we have 51, because each State has its own system and then there is the Federal system.  Discuss two pros and two cons of our current court system and then detail how having 51 “systems” may impact the idea of equality under the court of law in your opinion. Be sure to use resources to back up your opinion.

Right now, we are living through an historic event, a global pandemic. This phenomenon has
completely upended our everyday lives. It has changed the way we communicate with others, the
way we go to school and work, and the way we think about the world in a social, political, and
economic way. We are faced with challenges many of us could have never imagined. It is important for our archival institutions to document what is happening in order to provide historical context for the future. Below you will find a series of questions asking about your experience throughout the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic thus far. If you answer all parts of the assignment in a minimum of 750 of YOUR OWN WORDS, you will receive full credit (5 points applied to your overall average). This could mean the difference in a letter grade. Though it is not required, I strongly suggest that all participate in this assignment. This extra credit assignment is an opinion piece. As a result, you will not be faulted for any opinions, perspectives, or arguments you make.
