INTERNATIONAL TAX RESEARCH MEMO
Mannring Co., a U.S. corporation, has decided to set up a headquarters subsidiary in Europe. Management has narrowed its location choice to either Spain, or Ireland, or Switzerland. The company has asked you to research some of the income tax implications of setting up a corporation in these three countries. In particular, management wants to know what tax rate will be imposed on corporate income earned in the country and the withholding rates applied to interest, dividends, and royalty payments from the subsidiary to the Mannring Co.
To answer the tax rate question, consult KPMG’s Corporate and Indirect Tax Survey included as an attachment to the assignment.
To answer the withholding tax questions, consult the treaties between the United States and Spain, Ireland, and Switzerland, which you can access at www.irs.gov (type in treaties as your search word)

Discuss the one thing you will take away from this course and how you will or think you will use it in the future. DO NOT REGURGITATE a theory from the text book! I want to truly know what you learned from the course. What stood out to you the most? What did you appreciate the most? How will you use it in real life?

Your “essay” should be a minimum of 3 paragraphs. I AM LOOKING FOR QUALITY, NOT QUANTITY in your essay. If there is nothing of quality or you do not provide substantial content, you will NOT receive credit.

One essay of approximately 550 words

Using your knowledge of t-testing. Analyze data set and report on the outcome.
Examples:

Is the daily temperature hotter this year than in previous years? Compare four different months.

Is baseball attendance lower this year than in previous years? Compare four different teams.

Paper:

You will need to submit a paper showing all four t-tests, an explanation of why the data set was used, an explanation of the results, and an explanation of the implications of the results. This needs to be done for each data set, and for the combined results of the data sets.

5 pages,  Cite references.

Presentation:

In addition, create and submit a 5 slide PowerPoint of the research that will be presented. The PowerPoint will include a cover slide (1), and one slide for RQ, Ho, Ha, and Idea (1), one slide per data set (4), one slide for opinion(1),

Papers must be in TNR 12-point, double-spaced, with 1-inch margins, and 7-9 pages in length. You may use the referencing style of your choice.

Chapters 25, 26 and 27 discuss the dilemmas of nation-state development during the 19th and early 20th centuries in the Asian, Pacific and Western Hemispheric regions.  The methods of development ranged from autocracy, religious reform movements, American Manifest Destiny to the Canadian evolutionary movement to self-governance. When looking at these various examples, one can confidently conclude that the Canadian model was the most successful, achieving a greater sense of demographic integration coupled with democratic freedoms and the equitable sharing of the Dominion’s commonwealth.

Based on your reading of the Airborne Express case, please answer the following two questions.

Note 1:Make sure to clearly indicate the beginning and end of the answer to each question.
Note 2: Please try to not use any other reference except the document attached.
Note 3: Use the frameworks to support your analyses, and quantify

Questions:
(1) Does Airborne have a competitive advantage or a competitive disadvantage? What explains the performance of Airborne?
(2) What is your recommendation for Airborne to improve their performance?

– Explicitly consider the question: should Airborne move toward distance-based pricing?
– More broadly, what should Airborne do to survive and thrive in this industry? (12 points)

Note 4: If the question is not clear enough, state your assumptions.

Each student is assigned a random disease and will have to prepare a case presentation of a patient with the disease.
In each project you need to analyze, conclude and make a diagnostic plan of the disease case study about a certain disease from what you have learned.
You need to  prepare a case presentation of a patient with all the necessary information (chief complaint, current medical history, symptoms, signs, past medical history, family history, or physical and laboratory diagnostic findings)
Your individual project is graded based on your thorough, detail and specific answers on 3parts:
Possible diagnoses (differential diagnosis) (50 points). After analyzing the patients case, you need to make 3 (minimum) to 4 (maximum) possible diagnoses (rank by the most possible to the least possible). You need to be specific: e.g. a diagnoses of anemia is not specific enough, you need to elaborate: which type of anemia.
Explanation of Pathophysiology of each of differential diagnoses (30 points). You need to write all of the pathophysiology
This has to be detail enough so that you can explain all the signs, symptoms, patients history and all diagnostic tests results.
Your suggestions of what extra work-up/laboratory/diagnostic tests/information needed to come to a more definite diagnosis for the patient. (20 points). On the last part, you need to give suggestions, as to what is (are) to be done to come to a more specific diagnoses for your patientscase.
Treatment including new research

Select two data sets that are of interest to you, and perform a t-test in Excel to determine if there is a statistically significant difference between the two data sets. Your P value should be less than 0.05 to prove a statistically significant difference. Report your results. Provide a two page report that includes an explanation of the data sets, the results of the t-test, and and the significance of the results.
