First, I need the research proposal edited. It is to be qualitative focused not quantitative. My title needs to be refined and my purpose needs to be regarding why I am interested in doing this research as my purpose. once you complete the first worksheet then you can work on the second. If the topic is not good feel free to change and restart.

The second worksheet (assignment 2) is the second part. The title is to be the same focus but further detail. you are to write the research question for your chose topic and then background on it, the background is the context of it all.

This week, we will be reviewing Chapter 5 on Merchandising Operations. Companies like Wal-Mart, Target, and Amazon are all examples of companies that purchase inventory from suppliers, and then sell those products to consumers.

1).  Describe the 2 formats for the income statement of a merchandising company, and list the respective sub-totals found in each income statement format. (You should describe some of the accounts found on each type of income statement).

2).  a) Describe purchase discounts and purchase returns & allowances.

      b) Describe the 2 shipping terms methods companies use when delivering products, and how freight costs are accounted for.

3).  Sales on Account – Many sales are made on account (on credit) instead of with cash or a credit card. Assume that your new company purchases products for resell to customers, and your plan is to sell those products at a profit. Make the appropriate journal entries to record the sale (on account – ie., on credit) assuming your company sells 4 of those products to a single customer. (You should select any price you wish to pay to your vendor for the purchase).  Hint – There will be 2 entries…Be sure to include both the sale to the customer, as well as the impact of the reduction of inventory through cost of goods sold.

In Political Science

1. Normative means to use values, ideals, norms, as measures; and it is by definition a subjective approach to the study of anything. A brief phrase that sums up a normative study would be:

The way things ought to be! A conclusion of a normative study is a judgment.

2. Empirical means in Ancient Greek, to know through the use of ones senses, In other words to know by observing. It does not start with any measures at all, it starts with raw data That is collected randomly. A brief phrase that would sum up an empirical study would be: the way things are! A conclusion in an empirical study would be a finding. Empirical studies are supposed to be objective.

3. Quantitative is the only approach that can be used with other approaches. It seeks to make the study of anything more precise and perhaps available to be compared. However, when used alone, it is often away for a scholar to use formulae to mimic natural or human phenomena. It then uses probability, to try and Predict some future event or condition. It is an educated guess. It is not observation, nor is it after the fact measurement. Therefore, polls which are quantitative models of how people answer certain questions is only a guess based on certain principles of probability, and on assumptions made by the pollsters. It has no basis in fact. It is -a guess, a prediction.

HH is a 68 yo M who has been admitted to the medical ward with community-acquired pneumonia for the past 3 days. His PMH is significant for COPD, HTN, hyperlipidemia, and diabetes. He remains on empiric antibiotics, which include ceftriaxone 1 g IV qday (day 3) and azithromycin 500 mg IV qday (day 3). Since admission, his clinical status has improved, with decreased oxygen requirements. He is not tolerating a diet at this time, with complaints of nausea and vomiting.

The phrases, Show me the money and You can take that to the bank demonstrate the influences of currency and the financial system in society. The phrase Show me the money from the 1996 movie Jerry Macguire, generally means that someone wants to know how much they will be paid for something or they want evidence that they will be paid. According to the Free Dictionary,  (Links to an external site.) the phrase You can take that to the bank means that a statement or a piece of information is true. According to Urban Dictionary, (Links to an external site.) it comes from an obscure reference that a check is a guarantee that you can take to the bank and redeem it for its face value.

In this activity, you will select a country and analyze the banking and financial system of that country. Locate a recent article (published within the last year) that discusses your selected country’s banking and financial system. You can use the Hunt Library, newspapers, new stations, or other credible sources to locate an article. Analyze the article and then provide the following in your discussion.

Analyze your chosen country’s banking and financial systems.
Describe how money is measured in your chosen country.
Discuss the evolution of money over time as it pertains to your selected country.

3. In the first paragraph of your discussion post explain which textbook article on recycling represents your position and which elements of your own personal context have influenced your choice. In other words, identify the important dimensions in forming your own opinion on how far to go in recycling.

4. In the second paragraph decide which textbook article represents the position opposite of yours and why.

5. In the third paragraph describe your “supporter” and then your “opponent” selecting them from the “imaginary friends” (Marla, Juan, and so on) in the Power Point presentation. To do so, review the PowerPoint presentation paying close attention to the descriptions of “imaginary friends.” Infer which of the five “friends”  would likely side with you and which would oppose you. As always explain how you came up with your inferences which details in the personal context of the “friend” seemed most important and why.

There are no wrong answers; the purpose of the assignment is to show that you understand how personal context might influence opinions.

Do you generally believe in beneficial environmental effects of recycling? Do you follow waste sorting guidelines only when you have to or do you go an extra mile? Do you try to limit your purchase of items that require recycling or are hard to recycle, e.g. plastic bags, disposable containers, plastic straws, etc? Explain how your personal context affects your thoughts on this issue.
