You must write a description of an object, mechanism, or process used in your field for publication in the magazine sent to employees and their families. (If you cant find an object or mechanism in your field, choose one you are interested in or something you have on hand.

NOTE: You will have to write a technical description on your research topic for your technical report later in the semester, so if you want to use that topic for your technical description assignment now, it will save you time later. That’s not a requirement, but I thought I would mention it.

1.    Begin the article with a specific title that indicates the topic and what you want to say about it.
2.    Your document will have three main sections. The first will be the introduction. Use the heading, Introduction for this section.
3.    Write an introduction that indicates the nature and scope of the description. The first sentence of the introduction should be a formal sentence definition. (Item = category + distinguishing characteristics)  Make sure the introduction clarifies what it is, what it does, what it looks like, or anything else pertinent. The introduction will be a form of extended definition.
4.    The second main section of the document is the body, in this case, a part-by-part description or a step-by-step process. The body of the description provides appropriate detail of the principal parts of the object or mechanism, or steps of a process. Ensure your object, mechanism or process is sufficiently complex to have at least three parts or steps to describe.  Use the heading, Part-by-Part Description, or Step-by-Step Description for this section of the document.
5.    The third and last main section of this document is the conclusion. Finish with a brief conclusion of the important focus of your description. Use the heading

What kinds of resources and strategies will you use to help you plan student-centered lessons that engage and involve students in the learning process?

Be sure to use in-text citations for each of your references. Also, please list your references at the end of your Reflection using APA style. You do not have to include a separate reference page.

Essay organization

Your essay should have a standard introduction with the central idea for the essay (e.g. thesis) laid out in the last sentence of the first paragraph, and at least 3 supporting paragraphs, followed by a conclusion.

Each paragraph should have a topic sentence that tells me what the paragraph is going to discuss. Then, you should use evidence in the paragraph to prove and support the topic sentence.

Your essay should end with a conclusion that concludes something or leaves the reader with something to think about.

PROMPT:

Define FEMININITY (what being a WOMAN means) or Masculininty (what being a man means) today by using an example of a person who best defines femininity or masculininty to you.
You should define femininity or masculinity however you so choose. You can use the stereotypes we discussed during weeks 1 and 2, or you can choose your own definitions that do not rely on stereotypes.

Introduce the person you have chosen in your introduction. This person can be someone you personally know like a friend or relative, or it can be someone famous. I’d prefer you use a more contemporary person, not someone from history.

Then, your thesis should list what elements define this person as related to the foundational ideas of gender we’ve discussed so far in the class.

In your essay you should offer specific descriptions of how this person reflects your concept of femininity by referencing back to at least 3 people, ideas, or examples we’ve discussed so far this semester. You should use these examples to prove how the person you chose reflects the ideas as defined by your examples.

Project for Health Class

You will create a 1-page research paper (typed double space 12-inch font) on any communicable or non-communicable disease.  You will pick the disease based off either the first initial of your first name or the first initial of your last name. (Ex. OConnor-Smith, since my first initial begins with O- I will research Osteoporosis).  You can choose any disease we used on the worksheets in your google classroom or you can choose one that was not mentioned in those worksheets.  The following items below, must be mentioned in your project.

Introduction of yourself.
The name of the disease.
The cause of the disease.
How is that disease diagnosed?
What are the symptoms?
How is the disease diagnosed? (ex. Blood test, urine test, Cat scan)

DO NOT PLAGARIZE and COPY PASTE.  This project must be done in your own words.  You may use notes that we used in class to help you with this project.  Good Luck.
