The Role of the Nurse Informaticist in Systems Development and Implementation

Assume you are a nurse manager on a unit where a new nursing documentation system is to be implemented. You want to ensure that the system will be usable and acceptable for the nurses impacted. You realize a nurse leader must be on the implementation team.
To Prepare:
    Review the steps of the Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and reflect on the scenario presented.
    Consider the benefits and challenges associated with involving a nurse leader on an implementation team for health information technology.
The Assignment: (1-2 pages)
In preparation of filling this role, develop a 1- to 2-page role description for a graduate-level nurse to guide his/her participation on the implementation team. The role description should be based on the SDLC stages and tasks and should clearly define how this individual will participate in and impact each of the following steps:
    Planning and requirements definition
    Analysis
    Design of the new system
    Implementation
    Post-implementation support

Reminder: The College of Nursing requires that all papers submitted include a title page, introduction, summary, and references.

Part 1: The first part of this assignment requires that you review the article you selected and indicate its main thesis or argument. In reviewing an article or chapter you are expected to explain the article in a manner that would provide someone who is unfamiliar with the article a sense of what it is about and what they could expect if they were to read the article. The review will provide a foundation for the second part of the essay.
Part 2: The second part of the essay requires that you critique the article and how it connects to other material, especially Internet sources. In your critique you should identify those aspects you felt were strengths and weaknesses in the article: Was the article useful or relevant to your understanding of Mtis culture? Was it easy to read or not? Did you agree or disagree with the author (throughout or at various points)? Why? How did this material connect (or not) to other sources we have looked at? Did it complement or enhance your understanding of material from the internet sources? Which ones? Why? This critique should be longer and more in-depth than the review.
Additional information about citations and references:
For the second part, you will be including references to other articles, chapters, and web sites, you need not supply the sources full identification within the body of the essay; this information is to be contained in the bibliography.
For example, if you are reviewing Devines article from unit 1, put a full reference in the bibliography, but in the body of the essay, introduce it as Heather Devines (1985) The Plains Metis and then proceed to mention what Devine discusses without repeating the title over and over. For other authors, again provide their name, year of publication, and the title when you introduce the reference, but leave all the other details for the bibliography.

Read the article by Fulk et al. article (2011) about team development, as specified in your Reading area.
Compose a 150200-word original summary of the main points of the article in your own words.
Include one APA formatted and styled in-text citation with accompanying reference.
Add the reference page for the article (see the reading area) and a separate title page. Use APA format and citation style.

The article by Fulk et al. article (2011) is uploaded in the additional materials

Instructions
Journal 4- Location and Opportunity
As you might have sensed, one neighborhood might be more affluent than another. One town might have lower rent than another. One city might be cheaper to live in overall than another, and milk can cost more or less depending on where you get it.
For this journal, well explore that variation based on location and attributes such as family income, education, race and family size.

1. Listen to this news story from NPR: https://www.npr.org/2018/10/01/649701669/the-american-dream-is-harder-to-find-in-some-neighborhoods
2. Go to this map and explore what it shows where you are, where others are and your identity and attributes as well as others.
https://www.opportunityatlas.org/
3. Take note of how similar and different regions are regarding the subheadings under Outcomes such as employment rate, incarceration rate, etc. for different areas. Do they seem related? I.e. Are there low income and higher incarceration rates or the reverse in some places?
4. Discuss the concept of opportunity as it relates to your findings. What does opportunity mean in the context of employment rates and wages, then rent cost or median income for the area. Are classes relative?

ASSIGNMENT
In 2-3 pages, write your response to the above questions. Remember to use formal language and check grammar. If anything is not an original thought, cite it. Show your references at the end.

For this task, provide three research questions for your chosen topic of interest. (Substance use disorders in correctional facilities)
Then, write a corresponding null and alternative hypothesis for each research question. Include clearly defined independent and dependent variables (measures) along with the expected relationship between them (cite a peer-reviewed journal article here if possible to support your ideas). What might be some potential confounds that you want to avoid with each research question/hypothesis in mind? How might you actively work to avoid these concerns within your study?

You may include references if you like, but it is not required for this assignment.

Length: 1-2 pages, not including title page

Read Jessica Mitfords Behind the Formaldehyde Curtain on Blackboard. Once you have finished reading the essay, write an argumentative essay of your own that addresses the following questions:

Why does Mitford object to the tradition of viewing the body after death?
What do you make of Mitfords choice of words? How does her tone of voice and style of writing affect her argument against embalming?
Why does Mitford rely so heavily on quotations? Does the evidence she presents strengthen or weaken her argument?
Does Mitford acknowledge opinions that differ from her own? Is her treatment of these other opinions fair?
Remember that your job is to evaluate the effectiveness of Mitfords argument, not to discuss the ethics of embalming itself. For the purposes of this essay, your own personal beliefs about embalming are irrelevant. Also, do not simply answer the questions above in list format; use the questions, instead, to develop a coherent argument of your own.

While writing your essay, please keep in mind that this is not a research paper and that you should not use any secondary sources.

Your essay should

Make an argument and not just summarize;
Support its argument with effectively chosen textual evidence;
Identify and discuss the texts larger concerns;
Be organized logically;
Not include any stylistic or grammatical errors, and
Be formatted correctly in MLA style.

There is a list of articles related to diversity in  counseling. pick two articles from below and write a summary of no more than 4 pages on both of the articles (so about 1-2 pages per article) The short papers should adhere to strict APA 7 format (all components except an abstract). Summaries should be concise, clear read and include , methods, limitations, participants of the articles and include: What were the findings, results? What were the implications or limitations of the studies they were reviewing? I have attached a PowerPoint with more info on what/ what not to include in the summary. Please follow guidelines in the PowerPoint as well.
This is a doctorate level assignment so it needs to be of good quality. However, I do not want it to be such a superior read that it does not seem like I did it myself.
Please make sure references and APA format is correct. Please make sure the summary is clear to read and understand.

It is nearly a certainty that India will overtake China as the world’s most populous country–by 2025.

India’s population growth is also too high, and needs to be slowed. Discuss why you think India will have a harder time slowing it–harder, certainly, than China.

Cite any sources used. Response should be a MINIMUM of three pages double spaced. Post response in PDF format. Use the “Add a File” button below.

You will be assessed on:

Your ability to address the question
