Hi, this work is for a presentation so do not need too many things, and please remember to separate each part. And the business centered around sponges.

You have decided to start a business together. You realize that you will need to obtain venture capital to ensure the success of your business venture. Put together a detailed proposal in the form of a presentation to me as the venture capital officer. Include in your proposal the following:

1) What kind of business structure you will form and why.

2) Provide me with the contractual agreements that you have in place for the business. If you’ve formed an LLC I would like to see your Operating Agreement and tell me why you chose that kind of entity. If you’ve formed a Partnership, tell me what kind of Partnership and why you chose that kind of entity.  I would like to see the Partnership Agreement. Read the first 4 chapters of The Namesake by Jhumpa Lahiri and make notes on the important emerging themes. Begin an original discussion post of two paragraphs in response to the topic above.

Specifically,  how do the characters so far experience alienation? Give specific examples by quoting or paraphrasing from the first 4 chapters. This part can be done in one paragraph. See below for second paragraph.

Decide on a specific element you would like to examine and discuss in your paper.
This could be a particular cinematic elements such as music, editing, cinematography or the content and themes of the film or the characterizations depicted in the film, or the structure and form of the
film. You can choose to combine two ideas. For example, you might write about the ways in which
editing expresses the theme of the ways in which sound supports characterization. You might write
about how the theme or message a filmmaker wishes to convey may create the form of the film. Ask yourself questions about a film to generate ideas for the paper.

Do focus on a particular and relatively narrow topic suitable to the length of your paper
(3 to 4 pages). Have a thesis – a one-sentence summation of what your paper is about –
clearly in mind before beginning to write. Make sure the paper has a function: argue with
a critical position, make a statement and prove it.
2. Do use specific examples from the films to illustrate your points. Be precise and accurate
in describing your example. General assertions such as the acting was awful, the
cinematography was breathtaking, or the editing was monotonous have no validity
without support by examples from the film.
3. Do try to be imaginative in relation to your material. This means your views, your intuition
and your insights are valuable.
4. Do check your paper carefully for typos, errors in grammar, etc. before turning it in.
Proofread it a day after your write it and you may spot inconsistencies in logic or any
other problems not apparent in the moment of writing. Sometimes reading the paper
aloud is a helpful way to detect errors.

Scenario:

Your friend, an 8th-grade earth science teacher at the local middle school, is organizing an Earth Day celebration for his students and their families. He knows you have recently been learning about environmental policies in this environmental science class and has asked you to be one of several guest speakers at the event. He would like you to explain to the students how scientific research and public awareness of an environmental issue led to an environmental policy or law. The goal is for the 8th-grade students to understand how people and communities (scientific community, government bodies, citizens of a country, etc.) can effect positive change for the environment.

Use the policy and issue you selected for your Wk 5 Discussion Environmental Policies in Action.

Prepare a 3-to 4-minute video and/or audio recording, or a 1,050- to 1,750-word transcript of your presentation.

Address the following in your presentation:

Summarize the environmental issue. What are its causes? What are the effects on the environment and people? Consider multiple perspectives and locations, as applicable.
Explain how economics and/or personal lifestyle choices or behaviors are related to this issue.
Describe how individuals, communities, and/or governments have worked to address the issue.
Examine the impact of relevant legislation or initiatives. What are the benefits? Have there been any consequences?

From the projects, I expect:
Creativity (were trying to move away from book-like pictures).  Think of something a kid would enjoy looking at or enjoy creating.

Your project should bring meaning and life to the detailed vocabulary.  You, I and your classmates should find your approach interesting and engaging.

Your work should have a consistency to it, and at the end of the semester be a finished product.

The project should contain well-labeled diagrams with precise vocabulary that will be outlined in class.  You may use written definition as needed for clarity.

Projects will be collected at various points in the semester for grading, and you are expected to keep up with the work.

Rectangle assignment

Brainstorming Activity – Geometry Projects
Over the break, please begin to think about the geometry project that well complete during the second half of the semester. I would like you to spend some time exploring various ways to display geometric pictures and their associated vocabulary.

The first assignment to begin the portfolio is to:

Create 3 different versions/visions/constructions of a rectangle.

Your construction should:
Clearly show all relevant aspects of what makes a rectangle a rectangle

Have all relevant parts of the rectangle labeled, in some way

meet all the other criteria from the syllabus description I know this feels open-ended and vague.  It should.  The idea is for you to spend some time constructing and understanding geometric objects and vocabulary in a way that is significant for you. 

You will need to bring these three constructions to class on March 20. 

If you get stuck:
Try making rectangles with different materials.  If you used paper for one of the rectangles, dont use paper for the other two.

Try seeing rectangles or other shapes in different parts of your life.  Just try to be aware and tuned in to the geometry all around us

Try thinking about something you want to do/create/explore and see if you can fit geometry into that.  A random example off the top of my head:  if you like running, create running paths in the shapes of geometrical figures and use something like AllTrails to capture them.  Then, just go running a bunch.  Seriously this project should be something you like.
